Dr. Inês Lopes works with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples in English, Français, Português, Español (intermediário). She earned her doctorate degree in Psychology from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and her B.A. degree in Psychology from Concordia University. She has worked in clinical and school settings. She has also participated in psychosocial work via filmmaking in three First Nation communities.
Her clinical interests include: depression, anxiety, bullying (including cyberviolence), behavioural difficulties, anger, social skills, multicultural issues, adjustment difficulties/transitions, mourning, self-esteem, assertiveness, perfectionism, relationship difficulties (couple, friends, family), separation/divorce, identity, sexual orientation, professional challenges, difficulties associated with being a caregiver, and coaching for parents.
She also works in the education, environmental and ecosocial well-being sectors.
She is a member in good standing with the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. The theoretical approaches she uses are mainly Cognitive-Behavioural and Systemic-Interactional.
