Dr. Kafka has been a psychologist in good standing with l’Ordre des Psycholgues du Québec since 2003. Her journey through the mental health field has included helping people navigate challenges at home, in schools, and at work. In addition to a Doctorate in Psychology from McGill University, she holds a specialized certificate in Marital and Family Therapy. To date, she has accumulated 12 years of experience in private practice and nearly 15 years of experience as a school psychologist. Dr. Kafka’s style is client-centered; blending several effective approaches to assist people reach their goals in overcoming the challenges they may face. She is an experienced professional who provides therapy for adults, couples, and families, as well as coaching, psycho-education, hardship support, and consulting services. Her areas of expertise include helping people manage and/or resolve difficulties related to relationship conflict, family transitions, interpersonal communication, child conduct, parenting, anger management, anxiety, depression, burnout, self-esteem, and school/learning issues. Because of her diverse experience and training, Dr. Kafka is able to tailor psychotherapy to the needs of each client, couple, or family.
