Julian is completing his Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Concordia University. In his academic career, Julian brings more than two years of crisis intervention experience, along with research experience on topics related to OCD, technology-facilitated wellness in older adults, and social behaviour in children. These experiences have influenced his appreciation for the unique circumstances, identities, relationships, and systemic factors that can impact mental health and well-being.
Julian prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and uses a person-centred approach to cultivate a safe, non-judgmental, empathic environment that values authenticity, collaborative exploration, and open communication.
Primarily trained in third-wave cognitive-behavioural therapy, Julian also integrates elements of emotion-focused, psychodynamic, and internal family systems approaches to tailor to his clients’ needs. His areas of interest include depression, anxiety, ADHD and autism related concerns, substance use and addictive behaviours, life transitions, and relationship difficulties.
