Dr. Amanda Thaw, Ph.D./Psy.D

Amanda completed her doctoral degree in UQAM’s Clinical Psychology program. Throughout the course of her education, Amanda completed a one-year residency at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, where she received training in general psychology as well as chronic pain, trauma, oncology and feeding disorders. She also completed a one-year internship in psychoeducational assessments at UQAM’s Center for Psychological Services. Amanda did extensive training in DBT and is certified in DBT-C, a new treatment for youth with emotional dysregulation, mood lability, social struggles and behavioural problems. Amanda works with children, teens and adults and has a great interest in socio-emotional adjustment, with an emphasis on self-compassion, values work and healthy boundary-setting. She is particularly skilled in helping heal fragile relationships. Amanda also works frequently with anxiety disorders, including school refusal, phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
